Area of application

This privacy policy information applies to the database of translators and interpreters provided on the internet by the federal-state justice departments and to the personal data collected via these websites. Under Art. 4 GDPR, personal data are all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

Control

Personal data are processed in the database of translators and interpreters. The federal-state justice departments are joint controllers under Art. 26 GDPR and Section 39 HDSIG for the joint operation of the database of translators and interpreters. The steps in the process under joint control are the access for research to the central application, the display of meta data and contents within the database of translators and interpreters and the provision of contents as the result of the access for research combined with the option of downloading and printing.

For all other steps in the process, in particular the admission[1] of translators and interpreters to the database, the storage and processing of personal data in the filing systems of the authority competent in each case for registration, sole controller is this registration authority for the purpose of Art. 4, No. 7 GDPR.

As part of the joint control, the state of Hesse justice department is responsible for processing the data within the infrastructure provided for the operation of the database of translators and interpreters, including the implementation of all necessary technical and organisational measures. The state of Hesse justice department concludes an agreement on processing under Art. 28 GDPR or Section 3 (2) HDSIG with the serviceprovider assigned, Hesse Centre for Data Processing (Hessische Zentrale für Datenverarbeitung, “HZD”). Otherwise the federal-state justice departments are each responsible in the area of joint control for the data originating from their jurisdiction.
